Join me, Amelia, in the picturesque setting of Mello View overlooking the Axe Valley for a day dedicated to creating your own vase. The day will begin with coffee, tea, and nibbles to enjoy whilst listening to Amelia talk about the design and construction of your vase. With a background in floristry, she will discuss how the shape of a vase influences the shape of an arrangement and how to create a structure that best suits your favourite stems. She will then demonstrate how to construct your vase. You will then sketch out your design and begin making your very own vase. We will pause for lunch cooked by Chef Ed using the season’s best ingredients, before returning in the afternoon to finish our pieces. The final hour will be spent adding colourful underglaze to our vases in a design of our choosing. Expect to create a medium size vase roughly 16-22 cm tall
This is a very special workshop that I have been dreaming of for some time, as it brings together my two passions: floristry and pottery. I am overjoyed to host it in a truly beautiful space that I have visited many times over the past seven years with friends and family — always enjoying delicious food and having my breath taken away by the views. I look forward to sharing this experience with you!
