Weekend Wheel Throwing Workshop 25th & 26th July

£180.00

Join me in my studio for a two-day wheel throwing workshop on the 25th & 26th of July.

This workshop is aimed at beginners, and no experience is needed. The class is limited to just 4 spaces, allowing plenty of 1-to-1 learning. The foundations of wheel throwing will be covered and can be applied to making items such as small bowls, cups, and mugs.

Day 1 | 10:00–16:00

The day will start with a discussion about the properties of clay and how to prepare it for the wheel, over tea, coffee, and biscuits.

A demonstration will then be given, covering the foundations of wheel throwing.

Students will then move to their own wheels and be guided through each step of the throwing process.

We will pause midday for lunch (students should bring their own lunch).

The rest of the day will be spent honing and improving your skills on the wheel.

Day 2 | 10:00–13:00

The second day will once again start with tea, coffee, and biscuits while watching a demonstration on how to trim and finish the pots made on the previous day.

Students will then return to their wheels to trim the bases of their pieces.

Once the bases have been trimmed, students will have the option to add decorative and finishing elements to their work.

Whats included

All materials and firing are included in the price. Students can choose from two different glaze options for their finished pieces. Pots will be glazed and fired, ready to collect from the studio 4–6 weeks after the workshop.

For those who do not live in the area, there is also the option to have pieces posted to them.
